PCMC Accelerates ‘Green Society’ Initiative for Sustainable City

Pimpri : The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation is accelerating its Green Society initiative under the Majhi Vasundhara 6.0 campaign to make the city clean, green and sustainable.

Under this initiative, housing societies are being encouraged to implement eco-friendly projects such as waste management and composting, rainwater harvesting, grey water recycling and solar energy usage. Royal Castle Society in Ward No. 24 has set an example by successfully implementing multiple environmental projects.

PCMC is also offering property tax rebates of 10 to 15 percent to societies implementing such environment-friendly projects, which has increased citizen participation in sustainability initiatives.

Officials said the Green Society initiative is an important step towards making Pimpri Chinchwad a sustainable and environmentally friendly city.
