  • High-voltage power shutdown for new 200 MLD project at Chikhali Water Treatment Plant

Pimpri : Water supply from the Chikhali Water Treatment Plant will remain completely suspended for a day on Thursday, September 3, due to work related to providing a high-voltage electricity connection to the plant’s new 200 million litres per day (MLD) water treatment project.

According to the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Water Supply Department, the high-voltage power supply will remain shut from 10 am to 6 pm to facilitate the work. As a result, water supply from the Chikhali Water Treatment Plant will remain suspended throughout the day.

The disruption is expected to affect several areas, including Borhadewadi, Indrayaninagar, Sectors 4, 6, 9, 11 and 12, Sheev Road, Chakrapani Vasahat, Dhawade Vasti, Moshi, Charholi, Dudulgaon and Chovisawadi, among other surrounding localities.

The civic administration has also warned that the morning water supply on Friday, September 4, may be irregular and at low pressure as the system is restored.

The Water Supply Department has appealed to residents in the affected areas to store sufficient water in advance and use it judiciously during the disruption.
