Speed to Road Works Worth ₹558 Crore in Industrial Area
PMRDA information: 40.74 km road network to be developed

Pimpri : To ease traffic congestion in the Chakan industrial area of Khed taluka, the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has initiated the scrutiny of various tenders for road development works. The total length of the administratively approved roads is 40.74 kilometers, and projects worth ₹558.12 crore have been undertaken by PMRDA, according to officials from the authority.

Technical Scrutiny of Tenders Underway

As a special initiative to resolve traffic congestion in Khed taluka, works costing 196.50 crore have been approved. These include several road stretches — Dhamane Phata to Zilla Parishad School (Koye) — 2 km, Kohinde Phata to Kadus village — 5.60 km, Kadus village to Kiwale — 5.50 km, Bhose R.M.55 to Vadgaon Ghenand — 1.20 km, Kiwale to Ambethan — 0.89 km, and Dehu to Yelwadi — 2.5 km — altogether covering 17.69 km of roads.

Works at Publicity Level

To address the persistent traffic congestion at the main Chakan Chowk in Khed taluka, improvement of certain roads had been demanded. Administrative approval worth ₹100.14 crore has been granted for these works, and tenders for the same were published on October 8.
The proposed stretches include — Mouje Chikhli to Moi — 1.70 km, Kuruli Phata to Nighoje — 2.50 km, Pune-Nashik Road to Alandi Phata (Chakan) to Alandi Road — 4 km, Charholi Khurd to Alandi via Markal Road — 2 km, Nighoje to Chakan MIDC — 1.50 km, and Khalumbre to MIDC Phase Two — 2 km — totaling 17.70 km in length.
