All Departments Directed to Prepare for Upcoming Pcmc Election

Pimpri : In preparation for the upcoming Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation elections, Commissioner Shrawan Hardikar has directed officials to finalize polling station locations, appoint election cell officers, ensure facilities at polling centers, arrange amenities for persons with disabilities, conduct training for polling staff, ensure the security of EVMs, update the voters’ list, carry out necessary infrastructural repairs in wards, make corrections in the draft voters’ list, increase public awareness about voting, and strengthen the grievance-redressal mechanism.

Commissioner Hardikar reviewed the overall functioning of various departments of the Municipal Corporation, along with preparations for the general elections. Additional Commissioners Pradeep Jambhale-Patil, Vijaykumar Khorate, Trupti Sandbhor, Assistant Commissioner Manoj Lonkar, Municipal Secretary Mukesh Kolap, Chief Auditor Pramod Bhosale, Chief Accounting & Finance Officer Pravin Jain, Chief Engineer Sanjay Kulkarni, City Engineer Makrand Nikam and staff were present.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Commissioner reviewed the city’s daily essential services, cleanliness management, pothole-free campaign, and development works under the Master Plan. He also discussed the ongoing drive to remove illegal hoardings, street lighting, and the status of the water supply and drainage systems, instructing officials to take necessary action wherever required.

Regarding preparations for the municipal elections, all departments submitted detailed reports. The Commissioner instructed that the control room be strengthened to ensure quick action on citizens’ complaints. He directed every department to maintain coordination and expedite pending works. He also stressed improving efficiency by giving priority to basic civic services.

All wards were instructed to conduct a special drive to remove illegal hoardings immediately. Hoardings that pose a risk to public safety or obstruct traffic should be removed without delay. Information on authorized hoardings must be kept updated, and coordination with the revenue department should be improved, he added.
