Love Marriage Dispute Sparks Armed Attack in Pimple Nilakh

– Three injured after pistol and sickle were allegedly used; two suspects detained

Pimpri : A dispute over an inter-caste ? love marriage allegedly led to an armed attack on a man in Pimple Nilakh on Tuesday (September 8) afternoon. The accused reportedly attempted to attack the man with a pistol and sickle, but the firearm fell during a struggle, averting a major incident.

The main injured person, Amol Veer, along with Aniket Veer and Deepak Veer, sustained injuries and are undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

According to preliminary police information, Amol had married the sister of the accused against the wishes of her family a few months ago, following which tensions reportedly developed between the two families. Amol and the Landge family’s son were also friends and partners in a hotel business.

On Tuesday afternoon, Rohan Landge and Sandeep Landge allegedly confronted Amol in Pimple Nilakh and attempted to attack him with a pistol and sickle. During the ensuing scuffle, the pistol fell to the ground. All three injured persons were hurt during the altercation.

Sangvi police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and detained both suspects. The weapons were also seized.

“Preliminary investigation indicates that the attack was related to the love marriage. The process of registering an offence is underway, and further investigation is being conducted by Sangvi police,” said Manisha Kadam, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Pimpri-Chinchwad.
