“Hinjewadi Investment Being Destroyed”: Supriya Sule Targets Government

• NCP-SP MP announces Janata Darbar in Pimpri-Chinchwad
• Raises concerns over civic infrastructure and growing public protests

PIMPRI : NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) MP Supriya Sule on Monday held an organisational meeting with party office-bearers and workers in Pimpri-Chinchwad, where she launched a sharp attack on the state government over civic infrastructure, public grievances and the growing number of protests across Maharashtra.

Sule said the meeting was organised to strengthen the party organisation and take stock of issues faced by citizens in the city. Responding to a demand from party workers, she announced that she would soon hold a Janata Darbar in Pimpri-Chinchwad to directly hear and address citizens’ grievances.

A major focus of her criticism was Hinjewadi IT Park, where she raised concerns over deteriorating basic infrastructure, including roads, electricity and water supply. She said the local administration and the Maharashtra government should seriously discuss whether Hinjewadi should be brought under the jurisdiction of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.

“Regardless of whether Hinjewadi is included in the municipal corporation, the people living and working there deserve proper roads, electricity and water facilities,” Sule said.

She further claimed that the Hinjewadi IT Park had attracted significant investment and employment opportunities to the region, and alleged that the government was now failing to protect this investment.

“Pawar Saheb had brought the Hinjewadi IT Park in the form of investment, but the government is working to destroy this investment,” Sule alleged.

Sule said she reviews the issues concerning Hinjewadi every month but expressed disappointment over what she described as inadequate cooperation from the government in resolving the problems.

Referring to the recent agitation in Chakan, she said major protests had been organised over local issues and that NCP-SP MP Dr Amol Kolhe had led the agitation. She added that Chakan, Hinjewadi, Nashik and several other cities were facing serious civic and public issues.

Sule also urged the government to seriously consider the demands raised by Manoj Jarange, MPSC aspirants, tribal communities, OBCs, Dhangars and other sections of society. She also raised concerns over the removal of several women’s names from the Ladki Bahin scheme and said farmers were also unhappy with various government decisions.

Taking a broader swipe at the ruling establishment, Sule said, “Despite having a government of 200 MLAs in the state, opposition and protests show no signs of stopping. This is unfortunate.”

The meeting was attended by Tushar Kamthe, Sulakshana Shilwant, Sunil Gavhane, Vishal Wakadkar, youth president Imran Sheikh, Jayant Shinde, Devendra Tayade, Jyoti Nimbalkar, Sandeep Chavan, Yogesh Sonawane, Kashinath Jagtap, Rajnikant Gaikwad and several other party office-bearers and workers.
