Nana Kate Demands Urgent Pothole Repairs Before Ganeshotsav

  • Former Opposition Leader and Corporator Vitthal alias Nana Kate urges PCMC Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi to make city roads safe before the festival

Pimpri : With Ganeshotsav approaching, former Opposition Leader and corporator Vitthal alias Nana Kate has urged PCMC Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi to take immediate steps to repair potholes across Pimpri-Chinchwad and make the city’s roads safe before the festival.

In his demand, Kate pointed out that the movement of devotees, citizens and vehicles increases substantially on major roads during Ganeshotsav. Potholes on several roads could not only slow traffic but also lead to congestion and increase the risk of accidents.

Kate particularly highlighted the safety concerns of two-wheeler riders, senior citizens, women and students, who are vulnerable to accidents caused by poorly maintained roads.

He has demanded that the civic administration conduct an urgent inspection of all major and internal roads and ensure that potholes are repaired before the commencement of Ganeshotsav.

Kate has also called for special inspections and immediate repair work on Ganesh procession routes, immersion routes, major junctions and other crowded locations. Wherever required, asphalt resurfacing and road repairs should be completed on priority.

According to Kate, the festival is a celebration of faith and happiness, and no citizen should have to face an accident because of poor road conditions. He stressed that ensuring safe roads and smooth traffic during the festival should be treated as a priority by the civic administration.

He further urged Commissioner Dr Vijay Suryawanshi to issue clear directions to the concerned departments and ensure that necessary action is completed before the festival.

“The issue of potholes should not be treated as routine road maintenance. It is directly connected with the safety and lives of citizens. Pimpri-Chinchwad must be made pothole-free before Ganeshotsav so that devotees and citizens can celebrate the festival safely and without inconvenience,”
