Demand to Name Wakad Metro Station ‘Bhujbal Chowk Metro Station’

PIMPRI : A formal representation has been submitted to PMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Abhijit Chaudhari seeking the naming of the proposed Metro Line 3 station at Wakad as “Bhujbal Chowk Metro Station.”

The demand was raised by Corporator Shruti Ram Wakadkar, who stated that Bhujbal Chowk is an important local landmark and holds significance in the social and civic identity of the Wakad area. Naming the Metro station after the landmark would help strengthen the area’s local identity, she said.

The representation also urged the PMRDA to expedite the development of proposed DP roads and Shiv roads in Wakad, strengthen traffic management and improve connectivity and public transport infrastructure for residents.

Wakadkar said she would continue to follow up with the administration on infrastructure, traffic and civic issues affecting residents. Pimpri-Chinchwad BJP vice-president Ram Wakadkar, corporators Reshma Bhujbal and Kunal Vavhal and social worker Pramod Chaudhari were present on the occasion.
