Three Ugandan Women Detained for Visa Overstay in Pimpri-Chinchwad

FRO initiates deportation proceedings after finding women staying in Marunji without visa extensions

PIMPRI : The Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) of Pimpri-Chinchwad Police has detained three Ugandan women for allegedly staying in India after their visas expired without obtaining extensions. The action was taken at the Happy Homes residential complex in Marunji, under the jurisdiction of Hinjawadi police station, on October 13. Deportation proceedings have been initiated against them.

The women have been identified as Doreck Ahaisbiwe, Prossy Ankunda and Amina Katusiime. According to police, Ahaisbiwe’s student visa expired on October 7, 2026, while Ankunda’s medical visa expired on December 29, 2025, and Katusiime’s medical visa expired on November 11, 2025.

The FRO team conducted the operation after gathering information through confidential sources and technical analysis. During verification, the women reportedly submitted photocopies of their passports and visas instead of the original documents. Their details were subsequently checked through the Immigration, Visa, Foreigners Registration and Tracking (IVFRT) system, which confirmed their identities and visa details.

Police said the women had not obtained extensions to stay in India after their visas expired. The operation followed directions from Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey and DCP (Special Branch) Dheeraj Patil to identify foreign nationals overstaying their visas.

Meanwhile, police have reminded landlords, property owners and hotel operators that they must submit a C-Form to the FRO within 24 hours of accommodating a foreign national. Failure to comply may invite legal action. The operation was conducted under the guidance of senior police officials, with a team from Special Branch-II.
