Pothole-Ridden Roads in Kalewadi, Rahatani Areas Trigger Safety Concerns

Pimpri : Several roads in Kalewadi, Rahatani, Vijaynagar, Tapkirnagar, as well as Bharatmata Chowk, Nadhnagar, Kokanenagar, Pachpir Chowk, Adarshnagar and Jyotibanagar have developed large potholes following the recent rains, causing severe inconvenience to residents and increasing the risk of accidents.

Rainwater has accumulated in the deep potholes, turning the roads into muddy stretches. Since motorists are often unable to gauge the depth of the potholes, two-wheeler riders have reportedly slipped and fallen, leaving several residents injured. School students are also being forced to navigate the damaged roads on their way to school, raising concerns over their safety.

Senior citizens, women, students and two-wheeler riders are facing particular difficulties while travelling through these areas. With further rainfall likely to worsen the condition, the municipal administration should immediately fill the potholes and undertake necessary road repairs, said former Leader of Opposition Machhindra Tapkir.

Tapkir warned that if the civic administration fails to repair the roads at the earliest, trees will be planted in the potholes as part of a public agitation to draw attention to the issue.
