PCMC Begins Disbursing 10 Lakh Compensation to Families of Moshi Dump Yard Tragedy Victims
Pimpri : The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has started transferring financial assistance of ₹10 lakh to the families of those who lost their lives in the Moshi dump yard accident on July 8.
PCMC Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi said that after completing the required documentation, ₹10 lakh has been credited to the family of deceased Akshay Sawant (32). The amount has been distributed as 34% to his wife Harshada Sawant and 33% each to his parents, Reshma and Raju Sawant.
The documentation process for the families of the remaining eight deceased victims is underway, and the compensation will be transferred immediately after verification.
Mayor Ravi Landge said the civic body is committed to extending all possible support to the bereaved families and has also initiated a comprehensive review of safety measures at all waste management facilities to prevent such incidents in the future.
