Yoga Education at School Level is the Need of the Hour: MLA Shankar Jagtap
Pimpri : “Yoga is an invaluable gift from India to the world for physical and mental well-being. In today’s fast-paced era, stress among children is increasing at an early age. To prevent future health complications, it is essential to introduce yoga education from the school level,” said Chinchwad MLA Shankar Jagtap.
On the occasion of International Yoga Day, a grand yoga camp was organized at Rajmata Jijau Udyan under the Sangvi-Pimple Gurav Mandal. MLA Shankar Jagtap personally participated in the yoga session along with citizens.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Jagtap said that due to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, yoga has gained global recognition and a new identity. He added that this year’s Yoga Day is being celebrated with the theme of “12 Years of Public Service and Public Welfare.” He also highlighted that under the guidance of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the yoga movement has gained momentum across the state.
Emphasizing the importance of yoga for future generations, MLA Jagtap said that creating awareness about yoga at the school level is essential. Developing a yoga habit at a young age improves concentration and helps prevent several health issues in the future.
Citizens Participate Enthusiastically
The camp was organized by corporators Shashikant Kadam, Shyam Jagtap, Dnyaneshwar alias Mauli Jagtap and corporator Pallavi Mahesh Jagtap.
Renowned yoga instructor Meena Pawar guided participants through pranayama and various yoga postures with practical demonstrations. Hundreds of citizens participated in the camp and pledged to include regular yoga practice in their daily lives.
