PCMC Cracks Down on Illegal Hoardings, Removes Three Structures
Pimpri : The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has intensified its action against unauthorised advertisement hoardings, removing three illegal structures across the city as part of an ongoing enforcement drive.
According to the civic body’s sky sign and licensing department, two 20×20 hoardings erected at Katalewasti near NDS Banquets Lawn in Kiwale and one 10×10 hoarding near Morya Gosavi Temple in Chinchwad were dismantled for lacking prior permission.
Officials said that as per provisions under the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Act and state advertisement regulation rules (May 9, 2022), prior approval from the civic body is mandatory before installing hoardings, even on private properties.
PCMC has warned advertisers and businesses against erecting illegal hoardings, stating that strict action, including immediate removal, will continue against violators.
Municipal commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryavanshi said maintaining urban discipline and planning is a shared responsibility of authorities and citizens, while deputy commissioner Rajesh Agale reiterated that illegal hoardings will not be tolerated in the city.
