Demand for New Road to Ease Traffic Congestion in Pimple Saudagar
- Corporators urge inclusion of proposed ‘Y-junction’ link road in Development Plan
Pimpri : Amid worsening traffic snarls in Ward No. 28 of Pimple Saudagar, a strong demand has been made for a new road to offer a lasting solution. Corporator Anita Sandeep Kate has approached the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, urging the town planning department to act swiftly on the proposal.
According to the memorandum, residents have been facing frequent traffic snarls due to heavy vehicular movement on key routes such as the Nashik Phata–Kokane Chowk BRTS road and the DP road near Kunal Icon. Both roads converge at Kokane Chowk and Shivar Chowk, leading to severe congestion during peak hours.
To address the issue, it has been proposed to develop a new ‘Y-junction’ road ahead of PK Chowk and Kunjir Chowk, passing through defence land near the Jagtap Dairy BRTS road. The proposed alternative route is expected to ease traffic flow and reduce bottlenecks in the area.
The corporators have also demanded that this proposal be incorporated into the upcoming Development Plan (DP). The demand has been supported by corporators Shatrughan Kate and Kunda Bhise.
