World Senior Citizens’ Day Celebrated in Ghodegaon
- Tribal Development Project Office honours contribution and experience of senior citizens
PUNE : World Senior Citizens’ Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at Ghodegaon by the Integrated Tribal Development Project Office in collaboration with the Retired Officers and Employees Association, as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
The programme was organised at the Government Ashram School for English Medium, Ghodegaon, to honour the long-standing experience and contributions of senior citizens and express gratitude for their role in society.
Project Officer of the Integrated Tribal Development Project, Ganesh Ivnate, Assistant Project Officers Priyanka Ghanwat, Sandeep Patil and Rushali Ghaisass, senior citizens, officials, employees and office-bearers of the association attended the programme.
In her introductory remarks, Ghanwat highlighted the valuable guidance that society can gain from the life experiences of senior citizens. The programme also focused on their social contributions and the inspiration their experiences can provide to the younger generation.
School Principal Ganesh Gawde coordinated and managed the programme.
The initiative emphasised that the experience of senior citizens is a valuable resource for society and that respecting and preserving this experience is an important responsibility of the younger generation.
Retired Officers and Employees Association president Bharat Shinde, vice-president Hanumant Kale, secretary Dadabhau Lohkare and other office-bearers and members were present.
