New Post Office Likely to Come Up in Pimple Saudagar, Corporator Kunda Bhise Says

Pimpri : A new post office facility is set to be established in Pimple Saudagar following consistent efforts by Shankar Jagtap to bring postal services closer to residents in the rapidly growing locality.

To expedite the process, corporator Dr. Kunda Sanjay Bhise met Shravan Hardikar, Commissioner of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Saturday on March 7, 2026, and submitted a memorandum requesting immediate completion of administrative formalities and provision of essential facilities at the proposed site.

The civic body has shown a positive response to providing space for the post office at the Maruti Mandir Cultural Hall, located on City Survey Nos. 113, 116, and 117. Officials from the India Post have inspected the site and found it suitable for starting a post office.

However, some procedures, including the lease agreement registration and provision of basic infrastructure, are yet to be completed. Bhise has urged the municipal administration to arrange essential facilities such as a toilet, installation of shutters at the entrance, window repairs, and internal and external painting before the post office becomes operational.

She stated that due to the persistent follow-up by MLA Shankar Jagtap, an important postal facility for residents of Pimple Saudagar is now closer to reality. She requested the municipal commissioner to prioritize the matter and direct the concerned departments to complete the remaining work at the earliest.

Local representatives including corporator and BJP city president Shatrughan Kate and corporator Anita Sandeep Kate have also supported the demand, highlighting that the initiative will greatly benefit residents of the area.
