Eco-Friendly Holi Celebrated at PCMC School; Mayor Ravi Landge Promotes Environmental Awareness

Pimpri : An eco-friendly Holi celebration was organized at School No. 54 in Pimple Gurav by the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation under the initiative of Mayor Ravi Landge. The event aimed to create awareness among students about celebrating festivals in an environmentally responsible manner while promoting value-based education.

Addressing the students, Mayor Landge explained the cultural, social and mythological significance of the Holi. He said the festival symbolizes the victory of good over evil and encouraged students to adopt positive values in life. He also spoke about seasonal changes after Holi and humanity’s close relationship with nature.

As part of the programme, students symbolically burnt negative traits such as dishonesty, greed, ego, corruption and conflict, promoting values like honesty, brotherhood and social responsibility.

Students raised slogans advocating natural colours, water conservation and eco-friendly celebrations, while also presenting poems on culture and heritage.
