Architect Allegedly Kidnapped, Assaulted Over Development Agreement Delay

Pimpri-Chinchwad: A 31-year-old architect was allegedly forced into a car and assaulted over a delay in executing a development agreement for a property in Vikasnagar, Kiwale. The accused allegedly also forced him to sign a blank HDFC Bank cheque.

The incident took place near Kannu Ki Chai restaurant in Ravet around 12.30 pm on September 29, according to the complaint filed by Suraj Nathaji Patil (31), a resident of Ravet.

Ravet police have registered a case against Shivakant Tiwari of Kiwale, Moussa Gaus Sheikh of Dehu Road and Tiwari’s driver. Police have detained one of the accused.

According to police, Patil was involved in facilitating a development agreement between Tiwari and the landowners. The agreement had been delayed for some reason, following which Tiwari had allegedly threatened Patil earlier.

Police said Tiwari called Patil to the restaurant and questioned him about the delay. Tiwari, Sheikh and the driver allegedly forced him into a Toyota Hyryder, assaulted him inside the vehicle and made him sign a blank cheque. He was later dropped off in Vishrantwadi, Pune.

Ravet police have registered a case under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). PSI Tarfe is conducting further investigation.
