Unauthorized Construction Demolished in Kalewadi; 7,400 Sq Ft Cleared

Pimpri : The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) carried out a major crackdown on unauthorized constructions in the Rajwadenagar area of Kalewadi under the ‘G’ Regional Office. Around 7,400 square feet of unauthorized construction was demolished during the drive, which was conducted under heavy police security.

The action was carried out under the guidance of the PCMC Municipal Commissioner, Police Commissioner, Additional Commissioner, Joint Commissioner, Additional Police Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner, along with other senior civic and police officials.

A large team from the civic engineering department was deployed for the operation. It included 10 executive engineers and 28 deputy engineers, junior engineers and civil engineering assistants (beat inspectors). Officials and staff from MSEDCL also participated in the drive.

To maintain law and order, a substantial police force, including MSF personnel, police officers and personnel, was stationed at the site.

The demolition operation involved the use of Poclain machines, five JCBs and around 25 labourers. Fire brigade vehicles and ambulances were also kept ready at the site as a precautionary measure in case of any emergency.

PCMC officials said that the civic administration would intensify action against unauthorized constructions across Pimpri-Chinchwad in the coming days.
