MLA Shankar Jagtap Appointed to Pune District Mineral Foundation Governing Council

Chinchwad MLA to focus on development, healthcare, education and environmental protection in mining-affected areas

Pimpri : Chinchwad MLA Shankar Jagtap has been appointed as an ex-officio member of the Governing Council of the District Mineral Foundation (DMF), Pune. The official appointment letter was issued by the Mining Branch of the District Collector’s Office.

The appointment has been made in accordance with the Maharashtra Government Resolution issued by the Industries, Energy, Labour and Mining Department on August 5, 2026, and provisions of the notification dated October 11, 2024.

The DMF Governing Council plays a key role in framing policies for the development of mining-affected areas and their residents. Its responsibilities include approving the annual action plan and budget, sanctioning development projects, ensuring transparent utilisation of funds, reviewing ongoing works and approving annual reports and audited accounts.

The appointment letter was issued by District Mining Officer and Member Secretary Anand Patil, with the approval of the District Collector.

Reacting to the appointment, MLA Shankar Jagtap said he would discharge his responsibility sincerely and work towards ensuring proper and transparent utilisation of DMF funds for basic infrastructure, healthcare, education and environmental conservation in mining-affected areas.
