CIDCO Recruitment Stuck for a Year, Candidates Furious

Exam and document verification done, but final list still pending; Sunil Gavhane accuses government of administrative apathy

Pune : Candidates awaiting recruitment to the post of Assistant Development Officer (General–Class A) in the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) have expressed strong resentment over the prolonged delay in completing the selection process.

CIDCO had issued an advertisement on December 12, 2024, for 24 posts. The examination, originally scheduled for June 2, 2025, was postponed and eventually conducted on July 11, 2025. The result of document verification was announced on August 21, 2025. However, despite completion of these crucial stages, CIDCO has yet to publish the final eligible-ineligible list or take concrete steps towards appointments.

The delay has left candidates facing uncertainty over their careers, while those preparing for competitive examinations fear losing valuable time and facing age-limit constraints.

NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) state coordinator Sunil Gavhane criticised the administration, alleging that the government has failed to maintain control over recruitment processes. He demanded that CIDCO immediately clarify the status of the recruitment, publish the final list and complete appointments within a fixed deadline.

Gavhane also said candidates should not be forced to stage protests or approach elected representatives merely to secure appointments after successfully completing the examination and document verification process. He warned that if the administration fails to act promptly, his party would stand with the candidates and consider agitation to safeguard their rights.
