Man Arrested for Obscene Act Inside Car Near College in Pune
Accused allegedly repeated the act multiple times since October 2025 police says
Pune: The Shivajinagar Police Station in Pune have arrested a man for allegedly performing obscene acts inside a car at a public place. The accused has been identified as Pranav Kedar Waze, a resident of Model Colony in Shivajinagar.
According to police officials, the accused, who is reportedly the son of a municipal officer, had allegedly committed similar acts several times in the past.
Police said that Waze frequently sat inside his car within the premises of a college in the Shivajinagar area and allegedly pulled down his pants to his knees while holding a mobile phone and making obscene gestures while looking at girls passing by.
The incidents reportedly occurred several times between October 2025 and March 4, 2026. The acts caused embarrassment and distress to female college students, police said.
Following a complaint filed by a woman at the Shivajinagar Police Station, police launched a search operation. The accused was later chased and detained by the police from the college premises and subsequently arrested.
Further investigation into the case is being carried out by Police Sub-Inspector Valse.
