Internal Rift Surfaces in Pimpri-Chinchwad BJP; Mayor Allegedly Prevented from Working

  • Sachin Kalbhor submits memorandum to state BJP president Ravindra Chavan, seeks action against internal high-handedness

Pimpri : Internal differences within the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Pimpri-Chinchwad have once again come to the fore, with party worker Sachin Kalbhor alleging that certain local leaders are creating hurdles in the functioning of Mayor Ravi Landge.

Kalbhor has submitted a memorandum to Maharashtra BJP president Ravindra Chavan, urging the state leadership to intervene and take appropriate action against those allegedly obstructing the Mayor’s development and administrative work.

According to the memorandum, the BJP is in power in the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, and Mayor Ravi Landge is working for the city’s development under the guidance of senior party leaders. Kalbhor claimed that the Mayor’s functioning has helped strengthen the party’s image.

However, he alleged that some local BJP leaders have repeatedly prevented the Mayor from functioning effectively. He claimed that the General Body meeting has been adjourned three times in the past year by leaders from the ruling party itself, causing unnecessary embarrassment to the Mayor and affecting development work.

Direct allegation against ruling party leader

Kalbhor has directly blamed ruling party leader Prashant Shitole for allegedly creating obstacles in the Mayor’s development initiatives and day-to-day administrative functioning without valid reasons.

He urged Chavan to personally intervene, issue clear directions to the concerned leaders and ensure that the Mayor is allowed to work without obstruction.

The memorandum has once again brought internal differences within the Pimpri-Chinchwad BJP into the political spotlight.
