Three Accidents in a Day Shake Pimpri-Chinchwad; Tipper Traffic Under Fire

  • One Dead, Two Critically Injured; MLA Amit Gorakhe Demands Immediate Safety Measures Near Bird Valley Chowk

Pimpri : Reckless tipper truck movement has led to a serious safety crisis in the city, with three accidents reported in a single day, leaving one person dead and two others critically injured.

The most tragic incident occurred at Bird Valley Chowk, where a citizen lost his life on the spot after being hit by a tipper. In two other separate accidents, two individuals sustained severe injuries, raising concerns over the increasing danger posed by heavy vehicle traffic in busy urban areas.

Following the incidents, MLC Amit Gorakhe promptly contacted the police and municipal authorities, urging them to implement strict and immediate safety measures. He highlighted the seriousness of such accidents occurring in high-traffic zones, especially near schools.

Gorakhe pointed out the lack of basic road safety infrastructure in the area, including zebra crossings, traffic signals, and speed breakers, which has contributed to the rising number of accidents. He has directed authorities to identify accident-prone “black spots” across the city and establish an effective traffic control system without delay.

He also demanded restrictions on heavy vehicles, enhanced safety arrangements near schools, and increased police patrolling in vulnerable areas.

“Not just condolences, but concrete action is our priority,” Gorakhe asserted.
