“Sanitation Workers’ Issues Must Be Resolved Sensitively and Urgently”: Sher Singh Dagor
Pimpri : Sher Singh Dagor, Chairman of the Maharashtra State Safai Karamchari Commission directed the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation administration to address the long-pending issues of sanitation workers with urgency and sensitivity, stressing that their contribution to public health and city cleanliness is invaluable.
Chairing a review meeting at the PCMC headquarters, Dagor called for stronger implementation of welfare schemes, timely promotions, compassionate appointments, health insurance coverage, and better housing facilities for sanitation workers. He also instructed the administration to appoint a dedicated nodal officer to handle workers’ grievances efficiently.
Vijay Suryawanshi assured that the civic body is committed to resolving pending issues and speeding up administrative processes. Representatives of sanitation workers’ unions raised several concerns during the meeting, following which officials were directed to take immediate action.
Appointment letters were also distributed to selected workers during the event.
