PCMC Standing Committee Chief Reviews Chikhli STP, Focus on Water Reuse

Pimpri : Chairman of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s standing committee, Abhishek Barne, on Friday inspected the sewage treatment plant (STP) at Chikhli and reviewed its operations, with a focus on efficient reuse of treated water.

During the visit, Barne assessed the plant’s functioning and discussed with officials the treatment processes and ways to maximise reuse of recycled water. He also reviewed measures being implemented to curb water pollution and strengthen environmentally sustainable sewage management.

Highlighting the importance of conservation, Barne said the initiative aims to reduce pressure on natural water resources while ensuring environmental protection. He added that providing a clean, safe and healthy environment for citizens remains a key priority, especially in view of the city’s rapid urban expansion.
