Halt mega recruitment till quota sub-categorisation for 59 SC communities

Pimpri : MLC Amit Gorkhe and Sachin Sathe, grandson of Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe have demanded that the Maharashtra government put any mega recruitment on hold until sub-categorisation of reservation for 59 most backward Scheduled Caste communities is implemented.

The leaders said the issue has reached a Decisive stage, with several communities, including the Matang community, still deprived of the actual benefits of reservation. They asserted that sub-categorisation is essential to ensure equitable distribution of opportunities in education and employment.

Citing the Supreme Court’s ruling, Gorkhe said the move aligns with Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s vision of inclusive justice. The duo also announced a statewide outreach campaign and appealed to community members to support the cause through emails, representations and public engagement.
