Pimpri-Chinchwad RTO to Launch New ‘NW’ Series for Two-Wheelers

Applications for fancy registration numbers to open on October 30; auction scheduled for November 3

PIMPRI-CHINCHWAD : The Regional Transport Office (RTO), Pimpri-Chinchwad, will soon introduce a new ‘NW’ registration series for two-wheelers. Vehicle owners seeking fancy and preferred registration numbers have been invited to apply on October 30, 2026, by paying three times the prescribed fee.

Applications for reserving preferred numbers will be accepted from 11 am to 2.30 pm on October 30. Applications for the remaining fancy numbers in the two-wheeler series will be accepted on November 2 during the same hours. The RTO will display the list of applicants for four-wheelers on November 2 and for two-wheelers on November 3 on the office notice board.

Applicants wishing to participate in the bidding process by offering higher amounts must submit their demand drafts in sealed envelopes by 2.30 pm on November 2 for four-wheelers and November 3 for two-wheelers. The bidding process will be conducted at 3.30 pm on the respective days. Applicants must submit a demand draft along with attested copies of their address proof, Aadhaar card, photo identity proof and PAN card. They must also provide a mobile number linked to their Aadhaar card.

The demand draft must be drawn in favour of ‘DY.R.T.O. PIMPRI CHINCHWAD’ through a nationalised or scheduled bank in Pune. The RTO has clarified that once a registration number is reserved, it cannot be changed. If the vehicle is not presented for registration within 180 days of reserving the number, the reservation will be cancelled and the amount paid will be forfeited to the government. The reservation fee will be non-refundable, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Regional Transport Office stated.
