Mahavir Jayanti Ahimsa Week from March 25

  • Jain community to organise rallies, health camps and social activities across the city

Pune : On the occasion of Bhagwan Mahavir Janma Kalyanak, a series of religious, social, and health-related programmes have been organised across Pimpri-Chinchwad city. The Ahimsa Week will be observed from March 25 to March 31, 2026, during which more than 40 activities will be conducted, informed the Pimpri Chinchwad Jain Mahasangh during a press conference held in Pimpri.

Office bearers of the Mahasangh appealed to citizens to participate in large numbers and make the festival successful.

The Ahimsa Week will begin on March 25 with Bhaktamar Pathan at Pyaribai Pagaria Hall in Kasarwadi, followed by a World Peace Conference organised by Bhagwan Mahavir Education Society in Pune.

Various programmes scheduled during the week include water distribution initiatives, building inaugurations, food grain distribution, tree plantation, quiz competitions, drawing competitions, cooking competitions, religious programmes, blood donation camps, eye check-up camps, dental and cancer screening camps, Ayurvedic camps, cultural programmes, and food distribution activities at different locations across the city.

On March 31, on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, blood donation and health check-up camps will be organised at various places. An Ahimsa Rally will start from Sanskruti Lawns, New Sangvi in the afternoon and conclude at Nigdi with a closing ceremony, devotional programme, cultural performances, and Ahimsa Award distribution.

The organisers stated that the aim of Ahimsa Week is to spread the message of non-violence, social service, health awareness, and environmental responsibility among citizens.
