MLC Amit Gorkhe Demands Action After Ashram School Student’s Death

Pune : MLC Amit Gorkhe has demanded strict legal action against those responsible for the death of a Class 9 student at Jeevandeep Ashram School in Kalamb, Yavatmal district, calling the incident a result of administrative negligence.

Raising the issue in the Assembly, he said the death of student Dipali Vilas Komti was unfortunate and shocking, and alleged that the school administration’s negligence and insensitivity led to the tragedy. He demanded that criminal cases be registered against the headmaster and concerned staff and that they be suspended immediately.

According to the information presented, the school administration allegedly failed to inform the girl’s parents in time when she fell seriously ill. Her parents were informed very late through other students. By the time her mother reached the school, the girl’s condition had become critical. She was later admitted to Vasantrao Naik Government Medical College in Yavatmal, where she died during treatment.

MLC Gorkhe also demanded that the government appoint an administrator to run the Ashram school, stating that the management system had completely collapsed and students’ health and safety were at risk. He further demanded a high-level inquiry into the entire incident and justice for the Komti family.

He warned that if such negligence continues, similar incidents may happen again, and said the fight for justice will continue until strict action is taken against the responsible officials.
