Dehu Road to Sutarwadi Elevated Corridor Approved
Pimpri, March 24: The proposed 15.87 km elevated corridor from Dehu Road to Sutarwadi connecting Navale Bridge has received approval during the Maharashtra Assembly session, said MLA Shankar Jagtap. The project aims to reduce traffic congestion on the Mumbai–Bengaluru Highway passing through Pimpri Chinchwad and Pune.
The project will be implemented with the support of the National Highways Authority of India to improve connectivity between Pimpri Chinchwad, Hinjewadi IT Park, and western Pune suburbs. Land acquisition, widening of service roads, and road strengthening will be prioritised.
The elevated corridor is expected to ease traffic congestion and significantly improve connectivity and travel time in areas including Wakad, Tathawade, Punawale, Ravet, Baner, Balewadi, Sus, Bavdhan and Hinjewadi IT hub.
MLA Shankar Jagtap said the project will be a major step toward long-term traffic planning and better connectivity for Pimpri Chinchwad and Pune.
