PCMC Honours Women Self-Help Groups on International Women’s Day

Pimpri : The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) organised a special programme to honour outstanding women self-help groups on the occasion of International Women’s Day at Prof. Ramkrishna More Auditorium.

Deputy Mayor Sharmila Babbar said empowering women leads to stronger families and society, adding that the civic body is actively implementing initiatives through its Social Development Department.

The event was attended by former MLA Ashwini Jagtap, along with several women corporators and officials. Speakers emphasised the need for women’s empowerment and self-reliance.

Women and Child Welfare Committee Chairperson Rani Pathare announced plans to build modern, fully equipped public toilets for women and specially-abled persons across busy city areas.

During the event, multiple women self-help groups and federations were felicitated. Cultural performances, games, and activities by women employees added enthusiasm to the celebration.
