SIR Objection Deadline Extended to October 12

  • BLOs to collect documents from homes; special camps scheduled across Pune district

PUNE : The deadline for filing claims and objections under the Election Commission of India’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls has been extended to October 12, 2026, Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi said.

Voters who received notices due to “no mapping” or logical discrepancies in electoral records need not visit tehsil or election offices. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will visit their homes and collect the required documents. Documents may also be submitted through WhatsApp or online facilities, where available.

Special camps will be held at all polling stations in the district on October 3, 4, 10 and 11. Voters can verify their names, submit Form 6 for new registration, Form 8 for corrections and provide documents related to SIR notices.

The administration has also urged voters to use the Election Commission’s Voter Helpline app for online services. For information related to SIR, voter registration and special camps, citizens can contact the 1950 toll-free helpline.

Online voter registration drives will be conducted in junior and senior colleges from October 5 to 9, while voter awareness and registration activities will continue in industrial establishments, companies, factories and other institutions until October 12.

Collector Dudi appealed to voters who have received notices not to panic or crowd government offices, but to contact their respective BLOs and use the special camps and online facilities.
