Decoration Collapses During Ganesh Procession, Traffic Cops Avert Tragedy

Pimpri : A potentially serious accident was averted during a Ganesh immersion procession in the Vaibhavnagar area of Pimpri after a decorative structure mounted on a Ganesh idol trolley suddenly collapsed. Traffic police personnel on duty at the spot acted swiftly and moved vehicles and pedestrians to a safe distance.

The procession was proceeding towards Pawneshwar Temple when the rear portion of the decoration on a Ganesh idol trolley began to shake near the Indian Oil petrol pump. Sensing the possibility of the structure collapsing, traffic police immediately stopped vehicles approaching from behind and moved pedestrians and other citizens away from the spot.

Within moments, the rear decorative structure collapsed onto the road. As the area had already been cleared, a potential injury or damage to vehicles was avoided.
Following the incident, police personnel promptly removed the fallen decorative material from the road and restored traffic movement.

According to information available, the Ganesh idol trolley belonged to Lal Bahadur Shastri Mandal from Pimpri Bhaji Mandai, while the decoration work on the trolley had been carried out by A.T. Decoration.
The prompt response of the traffic police helped prevent a potentially serious incident during the immersion procession.
