Residents March Over Water Crisis at Swadesha Housing Society Office

  • Housing federation seeks separate tanks and alternative water supply from developer

Pimpri-Chinchwad: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Housing Society Federation led a march to the developer’s office over the water shortage faced by residents of Swadesha Housing Society.

The federation demanded separate water tanks for each phase of the housing project and said the developer should arrange an alternative water supply until the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) provides water at full capacity. It also sought reimbursement of the expenses incurred by residents for arranging water so far.

The march, held under the guidance of federation president Sanjeevan Sangle, saw participation from society office-bearers, women and residents. A meeting was held with the developer after the protest, during which federation representatives also spoke to municipal officials over the phone.

According to the federation, civic officials said completion certificates would not be issued until the main water supply is made available.

The federation warned of intensifying its agitation if the water issue is not resolved. The PCMC administration has not yet issued an official response.
