Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Constable Found Dead in Nigdi

Pimpri-Chinchwad : A police personnel from the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate, Vijay Koli, was found dead near a bus depot in Transport Nagar, Nigdi, on Saturday morning. Koli had reportedly been missing for the past two days.

According to preliminary information, Koli allegedly died after sustaining a gunshot wound from his government-issued firearm. He was serving as an RTPC (Reserve/Police Training-related constable designation, as applicable) and was attached to senior police officers.

Police received information that Koli had left his residence due to family-related reasons and had taken his government-issued firearm with him. Following this, police teams launched a search operation.

His last known location was reportedly traced to Durgadevi Hill in the Nigdi area, following which police conducted a search in the surrounding area. Drones were also used during the search operation. However, despite efforts over two days, police could not locate him.

On Saturday morning, Koli’s body was found in the bus depot area of Transport Nagar. Police reached the spot and initiated the panchnama and other procedures.
Preliminary investigation indicated that he had sustained a gunshot injury to the head. Police said the circumstances and exact reason behind the incident are being investigated.

The incident has caused concern within the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate, and further investigation is underway.
