Two Doctors, Four Others Booked for Noise Pollution at YCM Hospital

Pimpri-Chinchwad : Six people, including office-bearers of a Ganesh mandal, have been booked by Sant Tukaramnagar police for allegedly causing noise pollution by playing musical instruments without permission near YCM Hospital in Sant Tukaramnagar.

The incident took place at around 4.15 pm on September 22.

According to the complaint, the hospital premises fall under a silence zone, where playing musical instruments is prohibited. Despite this, the accused allegedly played musical instruments without obtaining the required permission from the authorities.

Police said the alleged violation could have caused inconvenience to patients undergoing treatment at the hospital and amounted to a violation of the applicable restrictions.

Those booked have been identified as Dr Ujwala Sumedh Andurkar, Savita Nivrutti Ningde, Dr Shailaja Manoj Bhavsar, Amardeep Mohan Chandgude, Vaibhav Janardan Devkar and Omkar Aadhav, owner of New Mayur Brass Band.

Sant Tukaramnagar police have registered a case under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Maharashtra Police Act and Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules.

No arrests have been made so far, and further investigation is underway.
