Patriotism Unites Chinchwadon Independence Day
Citizens pledge to uphold national unity, brotherhood and responsibility towards the nation
Chinchwad : A strong message of patriotism was conveyed through an Independence Day programme held at Ruston Colony in Chinchwadgaon, urging citizens to keep the pride of the nation’s freedom alive and contribute in their own way to the progress of the country. Coming together under the Tricolour, citizens from different communities pledged to uphold national unity, brotherhood and their responsibility towards the nation.
The Tricolour was unfurled at Ruston Colony by President D. M. Pawar. Vilas Kank, Balasaheb Navale, Subhash Malusare, Anant Shirsagar, Ganesh Ogale, Sumit Kamble, R. G. Patil, Gulab Mulani, Firoz Khan, Mahesh Kumbhar, Mohan Waykule, Aslam Shaikh and other dignitaries were present. Citizens saluted the Tricolour and paid tribute to the sacrifices of the freedom fighters.
Various programmes were organised at three locations in Chinchwadgaon — Ruston Colony, Ahir Suvarnakar Samaj and the Shiv Sena Vetalnagar branch. Flag hoisting ceremonies were conducted at all three locations amid an enthusiastic and patriotic atmosphere.
At the Vetalnagar branch, district organiser Santosh Saundankar, corporator Anant Korhale, branch chief Majid Shaikh, Shivaji Tambe, Rafiq Beg, Raju Masalkar, Sapna Bansode, Kalawati Natekar, Maya Kulthe, Yasmin Pathan, Rupali Telangi, Rekha Gaikwad, Anjana Karande, Ashwini Dhaware, Rani Kalbhor, Sheetal Kashid were present. Snacks were distributed among students.
Members of Ahir Suvarnakar Samaj Pimpri-Chinchwad also participated in the celebrations.Those present included President Bhagwan Wankhede, Vice-President Santosh Saundankar, Secretary Ganesh Sonar, Treasurer Shivaji Sonar, Deepak Sonar, Sunil Nikumbh, Kailas Paithankar, Pramod Kashidkar, Ganesh Devre, women’s wing head Smita Sonar, Anita Sonar and community members.

“Remembering the sacrifices of countless freedom fighters who fought for India’s independence, every citizen must contribute towards the unity, integrity and progress of the nation. The Tricolour is not merely the national flag; it is a symbol of the nation’s identity and unity. Let us pledge to keep patriotism in our hearts and express it through our actions,” said Shiv Sena district organiser Santosh Saundankar, while addressing the gathering. On the occasion, a patriotic songs programme was organised by the Ahir Suvarnakar Samaj, adding to the spirit of national pride and celebration, he said.
