Speeding Car Hits Roadside Stall, Crashes Into Pole on Pune-Nashik Highway
Pimpri : A commercial car carrying passengers rammed into a roadside tea stall before crashing into an electric pole. Three to four passengers sustained injuries, while the car was severely damaged from the front side, locals informed.
The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday (May 10) at Kendriya Vihar in Moshi on the Pune-Nashik National Highway.
Several people were out for a morning walk when the speeding car entered the area, rammed into the tea stall and later crashed into an electric pole. Fortunately, the tea stall owner had stepped away to fetch water from a nearby tap at the time of the accident. However, the stall was completely damaged in the crash.
Passersby rushed to the spot and helped shift the injured passengers to a nearby hospital, Madhukar Shinde said.
Shinde further alleged that all stalls in the area, including the tea stall involved in the accident, are operating illegally. He claimed that the roadside stalls have become a major obstacle for both pedestrians and vehicles.
“This is not the first such incident. Several accidents have occurred here earlier as well. The unauthorised stalls occupying the footpath create difficulties for morning walkers, but no authority has taken serious note of the issue,” Shinde said.
