PCMC Launches ‘Gudi Padwa – Enrolment Drive’ to Boost School Admissions
Pimpri : The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) on Thursday launched its special school enrolment campaign, “Gudi Padwa – Pat Vadhava”, aimed at expanding access to quality and inclusive education for every child.
The initiative was inaugurated by Municipal Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryavanshi at Mhetrewadi School No. 93 in Chikhli, marking the beginning of a city-wide drive to encourage admissions in municipal schools.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Suryavanshi emphasised that the campaign is not merely about increasing enrolment numbers but about ensuring holistic and inclusive education. He urged parents to take advantage of the modern facilities, dedicated teaching staff, and student-centric learning environment offered by PCMC schools.
Highlighting past experiences, he noted that welcoming new students with small gestures such as flowers and मिठाई (sweets) can significantly improve students’ emotional connection with schools and build trust among parents.
Education Committee Chairperson Ravina Angolkar expressed confidence that, under the leadership of Mayor Ravi Landge and the new commissioner, the municipal education system will see positive transformation. She added that PCMC schools are now equipped with facilities comparable to private institutions.
The programme also featured cultural performances by students, including yoga-based presentations. Officials, teachers, parents, and students attended in large numbers.
PCMC aims to strengthen public trust in its schools through innovative outreach and improved educational quality.
