Industry Body Welcomes Maharashtra Budget Announcements, Seeks Effective Implementation

Pimpri : Sandeep Belsare, president of the Pimpri Chinchwad Small Industries Association, welcomed key announcements made in the Maharashtra State Budget 2026, particularly those aimed at boosting industry, investment and the service sector.

Reacting to the budget, Belsare said the state government’s Industry, Investment and Services Policy 2025 aims to increase industrial output and raise the industry sector’s contribution to the state’s income to 30 percent by 2047. The policy also proposes establishing large industrial clusters in every district and launching the “Invest Maharashtra” digital platform to promote investments.

He said the move is expected to create around five million jobs and includes plans to set up small and medium enterprise (SME) centres in every district. However, Belsare stressed that effective implementation is crucial and that micro and small industries in the supply chain should also benefit from the policy.

Welcoming the proposal to provide loans to micro and small enterprises, he said the government must ensure that banks and financial institutions make credit easily accessible. He added that establishing a separate commissionerate or dedicated department for micro and small industries would accelerate their growth, increase turnover and strengthen the state’s economy.

Belsare also suggested the creation of a startup “Mahafund” to simplify financial assistance for new entrepreneurs. Such a fund, he said, would encourage startups and generate more employment opportunities across the state.
