Thergaon: Harshit Tiwari Wins Gold in Boxing

Standing Committee Chairman Abhishek Barane Congratulates Him, Extends Best Wishes for State-Level Event

Pimpri-Chinchwad : Harshit Tiwari, who trains in Thergaon, has won a gold medal in the Under-19 57 kg category at the Pune Divisional Boxing Championship 2026-27. Following his performance, he has been selected for the state-level SGFI boxing championship.

Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Standing Committee Chairman Abhishek Barane congratulated Harshit on his achievement and extended his best wishes for the upcoming state-level competition. He expressed hope that Harshit would continue his strong performance and bring recognition to Pimpri-Chinchwad at the state level.

Harshit trains at New English Medium School, Thergaon. He put up an impressive performance at the divisional championship to secure the gold medal. The Arinjay Martial Arts and Sports Foundation also congratulated him on his achievement.

Barane said Harshit should maintain the same level of performance at the state-level SGFI championship and make the city proud.

Meanwhile, Barne’s efforts are being undertaken through the civic body’s sports policy to improve sports facilities and playgrounds, provide equipment for gyms and support various schemes for sportspersons. Sports competitions are also being organised to provide local athletes with opportunities to showcase their talent.

Pimpri-Chinchwad has been witnessing participation by promising athletes across various sporting disciplines. Local encouragement and opportunities are helping sportspersons compete at higher levels.
