Artists Play Key Role in Enriching Art and Culture: MLA Shankar Jagtap

Pimpri-Chinchwad : Artists have made a significant contribution to enriching the art, culture and cultural movement of Pimpri-Chinchwad, said MLA Shankar Jagtap. He said efforts would continue to provide local artists with more opportunities and platforms to showcase their talent and strengthen the city’s cultural activities.

Jagtap was speaking at the 19th anniversary celebration of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Artists’ Association, held at the Nilubhau Phule Natyagruha in Pimple Gurav. Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Leader of Opposition Bhausaheb Bhoir and office-bearers of the Artists’ Association were among those present. Senior citizens were also honoured during the programme.

Jagtap said the Pimpri-Chinchwad Artists’ Association has been bringing together artists from different fields and providing them with a platform to showcase their talent for the past 19 years. He said the association has played an important role in the city’s cultural journey and that continued encouragement for artists would help further expand the cultural landscape of Pimpri-Chinchwad.

“Local artists need regular opportunities to showcase their talent. Various initiatives should be undertaken to encourage artists working in theatre, music, dance, painting and other fields,” Jagtap said.

Referring to the association’s 19-year journey, Jagtap congratulated its office-bearers and members for their contribution and wished them success in their future endeavours. Senior citizens were also felicitated during the programme in recognition of their contribution to society. The cultural initiatives undertaken by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Artists’ Association were appreciated by those present.
