Red Ribbon Club Holds HIV-AIDS Awareness Programme at Nowrosjee Wadia College

  • Session focuses on accurate information, prevention and health awareness among students

PUNE : The NSS Unit A-034 of Nowrosjee Wadia College organised an HIV and AIDS awareness programme on October 1 as part of the introductory session of the college’s Red Ribbon Club (RRC).

Aba Tapkir, associated with Sassoon Hospital, guided students on HIV and AIDS, with a focus on transmission, prevention and the importance of sharing accurate and reliable information about the condition.

The session helped students develop a better understanding of HIV, AIDS and related health concerns. It also highlighted the importance of creating awareness and addressing misconceptions through factual information.

Principal Prof. Dr B. B. Bahule addressed the NSS volunteers and stressed the importance of educating students about health-related issues and diseases such as HIV and AIDS. He said such awareness sessions play an important role in promoting a health-conscious student community.

Modern Education Society trustee Prof. Sachin Sanap continues to encourage students and faculty members to organise initiatives aimed at promoting health awareness, according to the organisers.

The programme was organised by student members of the Red Ribbon Club under the guidance of NSS Programme Officers Dr Komal Sawant, Dr Nitin Rode and Dr Sambhaji Warule.

The session also included an introduction of the RRC president and its student members. It concluded with an emphasis on responsible health awareness, prevention and sharing accurate information about HIV and AIDS in society.
