Landge Seeks New Fire Stations in PMRDA Areas, Including Moi
– Calls for risk survey and time-bound emergency response plan
Pimpri-Chinchwad : BJP MLA Mahesh Landge has urged the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) to review fire-fighting facilities across its jurisdiction and establish new fire stations or sub-stations in high-risk areas, including Moi.
The demand follows the September 9 fire at a packaging unit near Chimbli Phata in Chakan MIDC, where fire teams from PMRDA, PCMC, Alandi Municipal Council and MIDC jointly responded to the blaze.
Landge has sought a survey of response times, road access, water availability and local fire risks. He also called for adequate vehicles, rescue equipment and trained manpower, along with better coordination among PMRDA, MIDC, local bodies, police and health authorities.
“Nearby fire stations, adequate equipment and coordination among agencies are essential to ensure timely response,” Landge said, urging a time-bound plan for new stations in risk-prone areas.
