“Chetan Pushed Ketan, I Kicked His Leg,” Siya Goyal Told Police

  • Chargesheet details alleged sequence of events at Lohagad Fort

Pune : The Ketan Agarwal murder case has taken another turn following details emerging from the 5,053-page chargesheet filed by Pune Rural Police, which describes the alleged sequence of events leading to Agarwal’s death at Lohagad Fort on June 18.

According to the chargesheet, police have alleged that Ketan was taken to Lohagad as part of a pre-planned conspiracy involving his fiancée Siya Goyal, her alleged lover Chetan Chaudhary and Ritesh Hange. The chargesheet reportedly contains witness statements, digital and forensic evidence, mobile phone data, photographs, call records and CCTV footage.

Different accounts emerge over the final moments

According to an account of the chargesheet reported by India Today, police allege that Siya first pushed Ketan with both hands, following which Chetan kicked him, causing him to fall into the gorge.

However, a separate eyewitness account reported by India Today describes a different sequence. The witness allegedly told police that Siya pointed towards Chetan, then sat down and kicked Ketan on the leg, after which Chetan allegedly ran towards Ketan and pushed him towards the cliff. Police are reportedly cross-verifying the witness statement with other evidence collected during the investigation.

The differing accounts are part of the evidence that will ultimately be examined by the court.

Fake Instagram account allegedly used to lure Ketan

The chargesheet has also reportedly revealed that a fake Instagram account named ‘Mahi’ was allegedly used to communicate with Ketan and persuade him to visit Lohagad on June 18. Investigators have alleged that the account was created as part of the plan to bring Ketan to the fort.

Police have further alleged that the accused had earlier surveyed locations and considered other places before finalising Lohagad. The investigation also examined deleted chats, call records and other digital evidence allegedly exchanged between the accused.

All three accused are currently in custody. The allegations in the chargesheet are yet to be tested during the trial, and the court will determine the evidentiary value of the material placed before it.
