CM Fadnavis releases MLA Amit Gorkhe’s book on Dr. Ambedkar in Pune

Pimpri : Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday unveiled “Architect of Modern India: Yugpravartak Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar”, a book authored by MLC Amit Gorkhe during his Pune visit. Union minister Murlidhar Mohol was also present at the moment.

Speaking at the launch, Fadnavis said Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s ideals of equality, liberty and fraternity remain timeless and relevant. He praised Gorkhe’s scholarly approach, noting that the book presents a comprehensive account of Ambedkar’s contributions and would help inspire positive social change.

Gorkhe said, the book was an effort to take Ambedkar to the younger generation. “Dr Ambedkar is the true architect of modern India. His vision of constitutional morality and social justice continues to guide us. Through this book, I have tried to present his ideas in a simple and impactful manner,” he said.

The publication goes beyond a conventional biography, covering Ambedkar’s role in social reform, economic thought, nation-building and the making of the Constitution. It also highlights lesser-discussed aspects such as his views on water management, power generation and labour welfare, including the introduction of the eight-hour workday.

With a foreword by Prof. Dr. Vaibhav Dhamale, the book traces Ambedkar’s journey from “Mahu” to becoming a “Mahamanav” and reformer. It also sheds light on his efforts towards women’s empowerment and equitable governance.

The book is expected to serve as a valuable resource for students, researchers and social activists seeking to understand Ambedkar’s enduring legacy.
