Roadside Liquor Consumption; Sandeep Kate Checked After Residents’ Complaints

• Pimple Saudagar : Following complaints from residents regarding roadside liquor consumption causing inconvenience and safety concerns, Sandeep Kate, husband of BJP’s official candidate Mrs. Anita Kate from Ward No. 28 (Rahatani–Pimple Saudagar), conducted an on-site inspection of the Seven Star Lane area in Pimple Saudagar.

Residents had reported that open consumption of alcohol on the roadside was creating serious discomfort for women, young girls and senior citizens using the lane on a daily basis. Taking immediate cognisance of the issue, Sandeep Kate visited the area to assess the situation and interact with local citizens.
Seven Star Lane is a busy stretch with regular movement of women, school and college-going girls, and elderly residents. However, due to a few antisocial elements consuming alcohol openly on the roadside, the atmosphere in the area had deteriorated, leading to fear and insecurity among residents, especially during evening hours.

During the visit, Sandeep Kate held discussions with nearby liquor vendors and requested them to ensure that customers are not allowed to consume alcohol on public roads. Emphasising zero tolerance towards such behaviour, he stated that Pimple Saudagar must be known as a safe and cultured residential area and that there would be no compromise on the safety and dignity of women.

He also appealed to residents to collectively oppose such unlawful practices and to report any such incidents promptly. Local citizens appreciated the swift intervention and expressed satisfaction over the immediate response to their concerns. They also demanded coordinated action involving the civic administration and police to prevent recurrence of such incidents.

Speaking on the occasion, Sandeep Kate reiterated his commitment to creating a de-addiction-free ward. “Addiction is ruining the lives of many youths and young adults. Our aim is to caution them at the right time, provide proper guidance, and encourage them to become self-reliant and responsible citizens. I am committed to taking the lead in this direction,” he said.

Residents believe that such proactive efforts will help restore a sense of safety and social responsibility in the area, while strengthening community participation in addressing civic issues.
