Traffic Diversion on Wakad Road for Ongoing Concretisation Work
Vehicles from Mankar Chowk towards Chhatrapati Chowk to use alternative routes
Wakad : Traffic movement from Mankar Chowk towards Chhatrapati Chowk in Wakad has been restricted due to ongoing road concretisation work between the two junctions. The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has urged motorists to use alternative routes to avoid congestion and facilitate the speedy completion of the work.
The concretisation work on the road in Ward No. 26 has been completed on both sides of the stretch from Chhatrapati Chowk to Sonigara Society, near Mankar Chowk. However, the remaining stretch between Sonigara Society and Mankar Chowk is yet to be completed.
According to PCMC officials, vehicle movement at the worksite is obstructing construction activities, delaying the work and contributing to traffic congestion. The diversion has been planned to facilitate faster completion and minimise inconvenience to citizens.
As per the notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Pimpri-Chinchwad, dated October 2, 2026, under reference number 5638985/2026, traffic changes have been introduced with effect from October 13.
Alternative Routes
Vehicles travelling from Mankar Chowk towards Chhatrapati Chowk can proceed via Kaspatе Corner Chowk to reach their destinations. Alternatively, motorists can take a U-turn at Mankar Chowk and proceed via Kaspate Chowk.
Sunil Shinde, Executive Engineer (Civil), J Regional Office (Raigad), PCMC, has appealed to citizens to use the designated alternative routes and cooperate with the civic administration during the construction work.
