Illegal Flex Banners in Pune Feature Police Officer’s Photo
Unauthorised Hoardings on Sinhagad Road Raise Questions Over Enforcement
Pune : Illegal flex banners have once again raised concerns in Pune, with a banner advertising a hotel inauguration on Sinhagad Road reportedly displaying the name and a prominent photograph of a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).
Ironically, the banner has been put up next to a Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) warning board cautioning against unauthorised hoardings and threatening legal action against violators.
Several such banners have reportedly appeared along the stretch from Pu La Deshpande Garden to Dhayari Phata, including one near the Rajaram Bridge junction.
The unauthorised displays have raised questions about compliance with civic regulations and the enforcement of rules against illegal hoardings. The PMC has assured action against those responsible.
The incident has also prompted questions about whether civic rules will be enforced uniformly, irrespective of the individuals whose names or photographs appear on such banners.
